100 Days of May

It has been just over a month now since Theresa May became Prime Minister of Great Britain. Since then, Women’s Aid, the Women’s Equality Party, Women for Refugee Women and IC Change have joined forces to launch the #100daysofMay campaign.

As part of the campaign, they have set six achievable goals for Theresa May to commit to by the end of her 100th day in office, and thereby show her commitment to gender equality.

The campaign asks Theresa May to:

• Introduce compulsory sex and relationships education in all schools

• Guarantee sustainable funding for specialist services that tackle violence against women

• Invest in free universal childcare

• End the detention of people seeking asylum

• Ratify the Istanbul Convention to protect women from violence and abuse

• Commit to 50:50 representation in Parliament
