Get Involved in 16 Days of Action to End Gender-Based Abuse

25th November – 10th December 2017

From 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day, the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign is a time to galvanize action to end violence against women and girls around the world. Violence against women and girls is one of the most widespread human rights violations. During 16 Days, Equation will be raising awareness that 1 in 4 women in the UK and Nottingham experience domestic abuse in their lifetime.

How can you help?

While domestic abuse can happen to anyone, it is a gendered issue: the majority of survivors are women, and the majority of perpetrators are men. There are lots of ways you can help us to raise awareness of the importance of challenging gender-based abuse in our communities and empower survivors of domestic abuse to speak out and access support. You can also help Equation deliver our work against abuse through fundraising. The funds you raise will support healthy relationships education for young people and vital domestic abuse response training in our communities to end this abuse.

There are lots of ideas about how you can get involved in raising awareness and fundraising below!
