WAIS have launched a brand new service for women living in Nottingham City aged 16 years and over who have experienced domestic or sexual abuse. 

The RISE service offers immediate crisis support and also ongoing emotional and practical support. This means that help is available when it’s needed most and this can last for up to 12 weeks. All elements of the service can be delivered flexibly in their own home or in safe, accessible community venue.


Are you working with any young women affected by anyf the following issues? 

  • physical, sexual, financial or emotional abuse in their intimate relationships
  • relationships with unhealthy characteristics such as power imbalance, harassment, stalking, controlling behaviour, gang affiliation
  • sexual exploitation
  • honour based violence
  • grooming

We offer a range of services including 

  • homelessness prevention
  • safety planning
  • choices and options
  • emotional stabilisation
  • referral to additional specialist services
  • fast-track referrals to other WAIS services

Whilst the flexible 12 week ongoing support can include help with 

  • moving home or managing a tenancy
  • managing money
  • parenting     
  • self care and living skills
  • education, training, volunteering and employment
  • social networks and relationships
  • physical health
  • emotional wellbeing
  • drug and alcohol use
  • face to face, telephone, text and internet-based peer support
