Schoolchildren have been warned they could end up in court if they send explicit pictures of themselves via text messages and social media. Nottinghamshire Police is sending letters to all schools in the city and county, saying it has “grave concerns” about “sexting”. It has asked the schools to pass on the letter to parents in the hope they can tell their children how serious sharing photos of themselves can be.

Childline have developed an app to help teens combat sexting. Called Zipit, it helps teens get flirty chat back on the right track. It’s packed with killer comebacks and top tips to help young people stay in control of their chat game.

We work preventatively with schools to raise awareness of all the consequences of sexting. If you would like more information about this or any of the ways we work preventatively with children and young people, please email admin@equation.org.uk
